These are public domain maps provided by the Canadian Government. The Geogratic.ca web site has been down for months at a time. Maybe it was a problem conecting from the USA but here are the maps for download.
GeoTiff maps are raster images that are georeferenced for use with global positioning systems and other application. These are 1:50,000 scale government topographical maps that have been scanned They can be used in Photoshop and most image editing applications.

GeoPDF are acrobat files of the 1:50,000 scale topographical map collection. They can be viewed on a computer and you can zoom in. They are print ready if you have a printer that use 32" (82 cm) paper.
